is a section of The Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists (JSMF).
The principal goal of the SMS is to promote the advancement of mathematics and its applications.

is a voluntary nonprofit organization serving mathematical institutions and their representatives
as well as the whole mathematical community.

is a member of International Mathematical Union (IMU) and
European Mathematical Society (EMS).
The SMS also cooperates with the Slovak Informatical Society.

The highest decision making body of the SMS is the General Assembly which meets at least once every 3 years.
The executive body of SMS is the Council of SMS. The membership journal of SMS
is Obzory matematiky, fyziky a informatiky (Horizonts of Mathematics, Physics and
Computer Science).
